I bought this refrigerator in 2017 and this is the second compressor that has went out. It does not seem right that they are charging me over $400 to install a new compressor. I would not recommend buying an LG refrigerator as they will replace the compressor form free for ten years but will charge you over $400 to install it and looks like that might be every 3 or 4 years.

Worst Support For There Products

I bought this side by side in 2016 and up till a week ago it quit. Contacting LG customer support is the worse nightmare you will ever have. The support people do not speak english and do not have any I mean any knowledge of product and do not understand anything. They referred me to several repair people in my area. They problem with that was they did work where I live and others did not work on LG the one I called I get Mexico for an address 10 miles from my house. Next time I buy something I will ask is there support trained and do they speak English

Like the door in door but not dependable

Had this refrigerator for 6 years and the compressor went out while we were out of town. I purchased a 5 year extended maintenance plan and it goes in the 6 year. Very disappointing as I lost the entire contents of my freezer and fridge. Also warped my wood floor as we werent home and the freezer melted down and sat on the floor. Compressor has a 10 year warranty but I still had to pay $500.00 for the service call to replace it. Liked the unit and features but this has changed my opinion about it.

Overall I love this refrigerator that we purchased a little over 5 years ago. I love all its features and the black stainless. However we have had to replace a leaky ice maker twice already. And the compressor just went out about 2 weeks ago. Fortunately the compressor was under a 10 year warranty but we still had to pay for an LG certified service man. Reliability is an issue with LG compressor/refrigerators.

What a great repair service experience

My LG Refrigerator stopped cooling and we needed it fixed quickly or we had to buy a new one. Our LG Customer service rep convinced us that for about $450.00 LG could make this refrigerator operate like new and there would be no extra charges except tax. The service technician arrived on schedule and said in one hour or so the refrigerator would be working. He replaced the defective compressor with an upgrade one and within the 1 hour the refrigerator was working Today we are so happy with our repaired LG Refrigerator and the wonderful service we received by the entire LG team

I had this fridge for only 3 years and it broke down. The freezer wasnt freezing. The fix was technician was nice and prompt. But he didnt have the right part. So he has to leave the fridge unplugged for 6 days until the part came in. We lost all our food in the fridge and freezer and not place to keep food fresh. I called LG for reimbursement for the food and they still have not provided access to someone that can help me. Their customer service is the worst

Within the the first month or two of purchase the appliance has given nothing but issues with the icemaker. 3 over-the-phone self troubleshooting sessions and 1 visit from 2 tech later the unot is still not operating properly and what a coincidence that warranties have expired. Now I would have to purchase extended warranty plan which DOES NOT cover the issues were experiencing. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND APPLIANCE I would give 0 stars if possible.

We bought this refrigerator 3 years ago. The water and ice dispenser has a lot of build up. When I try to clean it off it looks worse. The tray looks cloudy scratched dirty and it looks like we had this refrigerator for a long time. Recently the refrigerator stopped cooling spoiling most of the food we had. After less than 5 years of regular use I suddenly got an F Dh error code. It turns out the automatic defroster failed. This was not covered in the 10 year compressor warranty. After following all the troubleshooting steps to no avail I called multiple service providers including LG directly. All wanted $400+ to repair it. What good is a 10 year warranty if the planned obsolescence of other expensive parts renders the appliance unusable? I have a 20 year old refrigerator not LG in my cabin in the mountains and it still works perfectly. Im so disillusioned with the situation that I cant buy another LG and refuse to put $400 into this one.

Keep getting defrost errors after 5 years

I purchased this on February 2019.broke down 2024 had to pay to have repaired. And lost over $150 dollars of food and was not reimbursed for any of my inconvenience and distress.

Service tech was great Call center was horrible.

The service tech that came out was very professional and courteous. Fixed the problem quickly and got out fridge working again. How ever the events leading up to the service tech fell short. Dealing with the LG call center was one of the worst experiences I have ever had the lady that was booking the call was very rude and disrespectful. I gave the service tech that came out a 5 star review. The LG call center 1/2 star.

Emma I believe her name is at the call-center of LG went above and beyond to help me when my refrigerator went out. Over memorial weekend I appreciate her so much for doing the extra work. I wish the company can get the products done sooner however Im very thankful and grateful its going to be replaced. if I could give her more stars I would. Thank you for employing awesome employees

Broken compressor

This is a second one that broke down in 5 years the first one had to be scrapped then this compressor goes out the serviceman came out and put a new compressor in it it still didnt get cold he told me just go buy a new one theyre only good about four or five years anyway got a hold of LG LG said theyre going to get it fixed for me and do the right thing and they wont ever send a serviceman they set up appointment nobody shows up rotten company when youre sitting and waiting all day for somebody to show up nobody shows up

Compressor failed after 2 years of use. Failed again just outside my extended warranty. Dealing with LG service was a terrible experience. We just decided to have it hauled away when a different brand is delivered. We used to have all LG appliances. Now we will steer clear

We bought this refrigerator 4 years ago. It has been good - we did have one issue with compressor last month- and LG replaced it free of charge as it was under warranty. It has great features and plenty of room.

Horrible whatever you do dont buy one

This is the worst refrigerator Ive ever had in my life. The ice maker failed constantly. Come to find out the whole system was leaking coolant and ultimately failed. I lost hundreds of dollars worth of food because there was no technician in my area. The store I bought it from replaced it but Ive yet to be compensated for the food.

Poor quality- beautiful design a lot of space

Bought the refrigerator in 2000 the ice maker was barely working it made a sound like a ball rolling LG had a service person replace it and it worked for awhile maybe a year tops then barely made a couple trays of ice each day. Now in the past 4 months the entire freezer is not freezing its barely above refrigeration temps. LG warranties for only a single year for sure not long enough. Ive entered service requests more than once on their site and never get a call back. I do not recommend this refrigerator.

Bought this refrigerator with the purchase of our house. The compressor went bad so called Lg and they replaced it. Charged just for repair service parts were not charged. Repair charge was $486.04 to install new part. Lg was fast to send a repair person to install parts needed all within the week. Overall didnt want to buy a new refrigerator and liked this refrigerator so had it repaired.

Beautiful awesome and comfortable. Easy to clean and large on the inside but its size on the outside is small. It does not take up much space in the kitchen. It is also light to clean underneath. I advise you on LG refrigerators. If there is any problem just talk to the company and they will give you the soonest appointment. Their service is fast and inexpensive.

I really liked the fridge and the features. Overall was very happy with it. However the compressor has now broken for a second time. A fridge should last longer than 5 years which unfortunately this one barely did. Only long enough so its outside warranty.
