We love everything about this refrigeratorother than its quality of manufacturing. 5 years after purchase the compressor went and being we were one month beyond 5 years we were responsible for the outrageous cost of the LG technician and labor to fix it. Now it is one year later and the compressor seems to have gone again This is unacceptable Unfortunately for us we were unaware of the lawsuit surrounding our refrigerator model and are past the October date to file a claim. Terrible customer care.

Mine needed repair

Great refrigerator but only lasted two years before the ice maker stopped working. So we just stopped using it. Two years later it stopped cooling on both refrigerator freezer. Had to call a tech paid the flat rate short of $500. bucks. But the tech guy Eric came out and found the compressor needed replacing. He did so and now its like new again.

A very good refrigerator until the linear compressor goes out. Ours went out after after five yrs. LG compressor warranty covers the part but not the labor which is about $450 . . . and you get the same unreliable compressor.

Quit working and then leaked and ruined our kitchen floor and beneath the floor downstairs. Lost about 2 thousand dollars worth of food. Lg said they could not repair it after a month of going back and forth stating it is a sealed system. Apparently we did not qualify for a food Reimbursement as they said no repair took place even though LG was the party who determined it could not be repaired and cancelled the repair appointment. My wife and I had spent 2 days of our week waiting for a repair person that was never going to show up.

I bought the LG Side by Side refrigerator. It is the most quiet refrigerator. The compressor went out while at the beach. Couldnt find a LG repair person quick enough. bought another name brand and it has an annoying humming noise. I wish I had the LG repaired. I miss the quiet fridge. I would say LG you need to add the cheese and lunchmeat drawer back to the fridge Side.

I bought this refrigerator in 2017 and this is the second compressor that has went out. It does not seem right that they are charging me over $400 to install a new compressor. I would not recommend buying an LG refrigerator as they will replace the compressor form free for ten years but will charge you over $400 to install it and looks like that might be every 3 or 4 years.

Worst Support For There Products

I bought this side by side in 2016 and up till a week ago it quit. Contacting LG customer support is the worse nightmare you will ever have. The support people do not speak english and do not have any I mean any knowledge of product and do not understand anything. They referred me to several repair people in my area. They problem with that was they did work where I live and others did not work on LG the one I called I get Mexico for an address 10 miles from my house. Next time I buy something I will ask is there support trained and do they speak English

Had this refrigerator for 6 years and the compressor went out while we were out of town. I purchased a 5 year extended maintenance plan and it goes in the 6 year. Very disappointing as I lost the entire contents of my freezer and fridge. Also warped my wood floor as we werent home and the freezer melted down and sat on the floor. Compressor has a 10 year warranty but I still had to pay $500.00 for the service call to replace it. Liked the unit and features but this has changed my opinion about it.

Overall I love this refrigerator that we purchased a little over 5 years ago. I love all its features and the black stainless. However we have had to replace a leaky ice maker twice already. And the compressor just went out about 2 weeks ago. Fortunately the compressor was under a 10 year warranty but we still had to pay for an LG certified service man. Reliability is an issue with LG compressor/refrigerators.

What a great repair service experience

My LG Refrigerator stopped cooling and we needed it fixed quickly or we had to buy a new one. Our LG Customer service rep convinced us that for about $450.00 LG could make this refrigerator operate like new and there would be no extra charges except tax. The service technician arrived on schedule and said in one hour or so the refrigerator would be working. He replaced the defective compressor with an upgrade one and within the 1 hour the refrigerator was working Today we are so happy with our repaired LG Refrigerator and the wonderful service we received by the entire LG team

I had this fridge for only 3 years and it broke down. The freezer wasnt freezing. The fix was technician was nice and prompt. But he didnt have the right part. So he has to leave the fridge unplugged for 6 days until the part came in. We lost all our food in the fridge and freezer and not place to keep food fresh. I called LG for reimbursement for the food and they still have not provided access to someone that can help me. Their customer service is the worst

Bought this product in 2018 and it has stopped working twice since and it has been the same problem both times. I have called to attempt to fix it a 3rd time but I have gotten no where with customer service.

garbage after 3 months compressor went out was under warranty thank God. Now little under 6 years COMPRESSOR OUT again I will NEVER by a LG product again Look at all the 1 ratings HUGE issue.

Within the the first month or two of purchase the appliance has given nothing but issues with the icemaker. 3 over-the-phone self troubleshooting sessions and 1 visit from 2 tech later the unot is still not operating properly and what a coincidence that warranties have expired. Now I would have to purchase extended warranty plan which DOES NOT cover the issues were experiencing. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND APPLIANCE I would give 0 stars if possible.

I get charged $500 for a service tech to check my fridge not cooling. Turns out it was just a button and wire that needed to be messed with. I understand a service fee for the tech needs to be paid. But $500 plus parts were sent to me hrs after the tech left I want to return the parts and get charged a lower fee but nooooo the service rep says Sorry Its a problem me time fee.

We purchased this fridge in 2019 and 2 years later had to have service done on it for the panel settings were incorrect from what the fridge and freezer temps really were. Plus the ice maker stopped working.

We bought this refrigerator 3 years ago. The water and ice dispenser has a lot of build up. When I try to clean it off it looks worse. The tray looks cloudy scratched dirty and it looks like we had this refrigerator for a long time. Recently the refrigerator stopped cooling spoiling most of the food we had. We are a family of six and having a working refrigerator is very important and essential. After calling and texting the insurance that we luckily purchased they gave us instructions on how to reset the fridge but still wasnt cooling. We didnt have a working refrigerator for about 4 days Having to spend extra money everyday to purchase food. We picked this refrigerator for the quality appearance and the trusted name of Lg. A bit disappointed and frustrated

We bought this refrigerator in 2021 and absolutely love it. The second outside door is convenient and used all the time. The digital controls are straight forward and accurate. Would definitely buy this LG refrigerator again

It was terrible LG sent us around in circles for hours trying to find someone to repair our refrigerator which we had for only 7 years No one could help us we feel totally ripped off We finally gave up and decided we will never purchase LG again This time we purchased a competitive brand and it was much more reasonable.

I brought this refrigerator in 2018 I had to replace the compressor in 2020 it stopped working again in 2023 right now Im just using it as a refrigerator because the freezer side went I called they want me to pay almost 600.00 to fix it I had a 3yr warranty on it that just so happened to expire never will I buy another LG product
