Warranty

Extended warranties are usually very inexpensive and can save you thousands in the future. Some can even cover extra costs that result, such as cost of food that spoils when your fridge dies. It's simple and inexpensive to purchase extended warranties and one of the smartest ways to protect your investment.

Appliances can be large, heavy and expensive. You probably don't have the special tools or expertise needed to fix them in a crisis. If you can spare a few thousand dollars without batting an eyelash for new appliances should they break tomorrow, don't buy a warranty. I have the unit 14 months. Overall it was fine. Then the freezer began icing up. Had to pay a repairman $125 to research the problem and he found inside the Refrig door where the top ice maker is the water hose was never fully inserted into the receptacle causing water to leak out.

Weve had our fridge for 5 years now and its already breaking down. dH F code and now its not maintaining temps and all our food is spoiling. I shouldnt have to be calling for service constantly on a 5-year-old refrigerator.

We are very disappointed in the refrigerator. In less than two years we have already had to replace the entire back inside panel of the refrigerator due to a sensor malfunctioning and allowing too much cold air from the freezer into the refrigerator area thus causing food and drinks in the refrigerator area to freeze. The part required to solve the issue was to order the entire back inside panel of the fridge area and not just the sensor with the entire cost being $657.80 and we paid a little more than $2000 for the fridge less than two years ago. Dont think well have another LG refrigerator

It stopped working after 2 and a half years of buying it it took them more than a month to fix it they have terrible customer service they dont work. No matter how many calls I made they said they would come one day and that day would come and no one would show up. So they had me for more than a month no one could solve my problem.

I had a previous issue with freezer and they sent out a repair person to help expedite the problem - even though it was out of warranty -- The repair person solved the problem in less than 5 minutes and also worked around my work day to fir me in between 2 other customers

I loved my LG French Door refrigerator until about two months ago. I heard a pop and my fridge wasnt working. It blew a fuse on the main board. I contacted LG through the App and it took them two weeks to send a service number. I had already got a repairman. We are waiting for a new main board. No one has one in stock. Ordered one through LG Parts. The availability date keeps getting pushed back and is now 9/15/24. Lucky for me I have an old refrigerator in my basement. Running up and down the 14 steps when you want to make something or put the groceries away has gotten very old. I am beyond frustrated. Before this experience I would have rated it very highly.

I love my new refrigerator. Unfortunately it arrived with a broken shelf but my dealer Yingst Appliance immediately ordered a new shelf and it arrived only two days later. I love the design and I love the display that lets me know the inside temperature of both the refrigerator and the freezer. I am looking forward to many years of trouble-free use.

Weve had an LG refrigerator for 6 years. We have a code come up and have to unplug it and plug it back on every 24 hours before the water/ice works. LG says it will cost flat rate of $485 just to send a someone to look at ut. Unexceptable

Ive had nothng but issues with the bottom freezer ice maker. The ice maker was replaced 2 times the first time when it was delivered and the second time when it was in warranty thank goodness I bought it from Costco. I wanted it replaced immediately and LG woudl not replace it. It broke again a few weeks ago and since I was out of warranty they wanted me to pay 400.00 for parts and labor. I reached out to several different people at LG and no one would approve it. Other than that the refrigerator iis great.

After just 7 months the refrigerator stopped working. It began to develop excessive condensation which over a period of two weeks dripped into the air ducts and froze. The technician had to disassemble the entire interior space to defrost the frozen ducts. This fixed the problem but likely only temporarily because the root cause was not found. My advice is dont buy an LG.

umm... so far I have doubts if I got the right refrigerator. Almost 3 weeks and one of the upper doors is not closing well. We have to push it because is it not able to close automatically. Several times we have found the door open. In the other hand although we followed all the steps to clarify the water I mean we had throw away the first two or three bins of ice as well as more than 3 gallons of water it tasted very bad. AT mornings it is very bad. We are using the same line of water with the previous refrigerator and also it was assured that the filter is new so we are not understanding what happen.

Since Ive only had it a few months had a fan go out needed service I cant give it a high rating. My service mane was great I have the model w/icemaker in the left-hand door the cubes freeze in the container which requires opening the unit busting loose. I do like the drawer freezer.

I love my fridge but recently I had trouble with the ice/water dispenser. When I called for service they told me it was 6 months out of warranty. To come and service my fridge they wanted $399. Thats their normal rate. They even wanted me to give them a credit card before they would com look at it. I couldnt believe it. I went to Yelp and Nextdoor. and found a local appliance repair person. He came the same day I called and took care of the problem. Their flat rate service is $69 and thats all I paid. LG customer Service is a BIG FAIL.

We purchased this model LG Refrigerator because the storage water/ice maker and bottom freezer allowed more space than our previous Frigidaire side by side refrigerator which we had for 16 years without an issue. We purchase the LG in may of 2023 from HD. A 5 year protection warranty was also purchased because the LG had more technology being a ThinQ model. We wanted peace of mind in the event there were problems. 13 months after owning it we noticed a noise. We called the warranty people through HD who sent a technician out to diagnose the problem. We were told it was more than likely the compressor and we would need to call LG directly in order for it to be repaired because the part was under warranty by LG. We were less than impressed with the amount of time and energy it took fighting with LG to help us. We spent over 3 hours on the phone talking to multiple support staff. They all read from the same script and it was difficult to get anyone to actually help us with an action plan. It was almost as if each person we spoke to did not read the information already in our open file. We literally had to merge a call with the HD warranty people and LG in order to get a resolution. In the meantime the refrigerator completely died. We lost all our food as we waited a week for LG to send out out service provider. In the end the LG service repair person did fix the fan and our appliance is currently working. LG did compensate us for some of our food loss. Fingers crossed we do not have any other issues where we need need to deal directly with LG. A new appliance should work properly for at least 10 YEARS not 13 MONTHS. I would also check the lawsuit out with this particular model. There are/were faulty compressors in the ThinQ model. Do your homework on this one...

Bought this awhile ago. Just recently had trouble with it. Defrost system stopped working. Talked with LG told me I had an appointment in 3 days but in fact it was over 2 weeks later. Found out LG didnt past necessary info to repair company I had to do it. Problem is solved by one of only two parts. Company said repair man would arrive with necessary parts to fix. Repairman came diagnosed then ordered par ts. Been 5 days no parts no info from LG or repair company. Not real happy. Fridge is good when working but if you have a problem expect unnecessary delays.

Ive owned this for a little over 2 years. Thank goodness I bought a 3rd party extended warranty. Water started leaking inside the refrigerator from the ice maker. Turns out a hose inside loosened itself. Technician pushed it back on. Im concerned about it popping off again. Wi-Fi enabled? It never worked.

I bought this product brand new less than 2 years ago and have already had the condenser replaced twice and evaporater once. The warranty was upheld but the repair process left me living out of coolers for over a week each time. The claim process for food reimbursement is fairly easy and upheld but again took too long to be resolved.

Overall a good Fridge. I would have to say after 4 years later just after within a month or more after the expiration date of my warranty the main board needed to be replaced. I was put into a tough spot because where I live they did not have any local people who work on LG Fridges. So I had to go through LG to do so. They charge a flat fee upfront and hold the money until the repairs happen. I had to take the service. The tech arrived then had to order the part. I was out of of a fridge / freezer for close to 3 weeks until the part was ordered. I informed LG and the company they went with what was the issue. They did not have the board on hand so they had to order them. Nun the less my fridge is fixed and I am short $399 because of it. Its a flat rate and the time I was out a fridge and freezer was a hard pill to take down. But in the end the fridge is working now that is great. Overall the fridge is wonderful and has just what I need to get it done with it. Its stylish and great to use when working.

5 Stars only after I finally wrote to the president of LG. His Liaison Bernique - spelling?? called me and she was great finally found someone who could speak English. My first customer service experience was awful wanted to speak with someone who could speak English nor could they understand English I wanted to be transferred to some one in the USA but that didnt happen finally hung up and called back 2nd time the representative hung up on me. So thats when I decided to go further up the ladder and wrote to the President and boy did I get results.

I bought this refrigerator in Sept of 2022. Only 9 months after purchasing it the problems began. It started giving an error code 1F - E and the fan motor in the freezer froze up. We called the store Brandsmart where we bought from and they came out and fixed the issue. Now approximately 2 months ago the same code came back. The ice maker and water are useless when this code appears. We defrosted the fridge as recommended however the issue is still occurring. Here I thought defrosting a fridge was a thing of the past. I spent over 2k on this fridge and now LG wants $550 to come out and fix it. I dont recommend this product at all.

bought this fridge 3 yrs ago and the compressor went out last month on june 20. a repair person came out a wk later on june 27 and it still isnt working properly. when I called lg again they told me someone would be calling about my new appointment to have a repair person to come back out. today on July 3 I was finally able to get a new appt but its scheduled for July 11. also they told me I would be reimbursed $200 for food spoilage. that was up from their initial offer of $150. on june 29th I was told I would receive an email that day regarding the reimbursement. but of course the email nvr came in. today on July 3 I was told she just sent me the email regarding the $200. she told me to check my email. I told her it hasnt come through yet and I was even checking my spam folder. she then confirmed my email through text and I said yes thats it. she said ok sometimes it can take an hr for it to come through. after an hr I called back. the guy said in the notes it showed she only confirmed my email. he continued to say it would take up to 48 hrs. long story short do not buy a LG refrigerator. theyre known to have issues with their compressors. I wish I knew that before I spent over $2000 on the fridge. also they will give you the run around. I swear every person I talked to told me something different.

I havent even had this refrigerator two years yet and the fan Assembly goes out not only that it started making a noise before I went on vacation. I called the repair man through the warranty. They showed up and said there was nothing wrong with it. While I was on vacation of course the refrigerator goes out ruins all the food that was in it The warty that I got said that they would pay for any food that was wasted but when I got the paperwork to fill out it Said I need the receipt or they would honor anything course the repairman when he fix the refrigerator didnt give me a receipt and nobody will send me a receipt so I guess Im not getting any money for the food

I really like the refrigerator. I love that you can do a systems check on it. Changing the air and water filters is easy and quick. The only problem I have with it is the in-door ice maker overflows then the ice melts outside the bucket and water drops will come out of the door.
