Leather Care Guide

General:

The most important thing in caring for leather is to keep the surface free from dust and dirt an much as possible. Also pay particular attention to the areas where skin comes in direct contact with the leather. Body perspiration, salts and oils need to be removed as often as possible.

Cleaning:

Leather should be wiped regularly to remove dust and dirt from the surface. Use a soft damp cloth, frequently, depending on conditions. Do not sue cleaning products with detergent or alkaline they will dry out the leather and cause fading and damage.

To remove stains and body oils use a mild soap or leather cleaning product and avoid rubbing hard in the same area. It's important to keep the surface clean. To enhance the look, use a high quality leather treatment or polish and be sure to wipe the surface to remove any residue build up that may cause the leather to dry out and cause cracking or fading.

Avoid placing leather in direct sunlight or heater vents, this will cause the leather to dry out and crack. If the chairs will not be used for an extended period of time they should be covered with a light cloth to avoid dust accumulation.
